Also, Christmas tree ornaments make great gifts for far-away family members, friends, and co-workers (of the Christian variety, anyway).  I've been thinking of doing Christmas packages this year for all of our extended family - ornaments and treats that they can open when the box arrives. 

then the guilt for not giving presents is gone, and we don't have to worry about our bank account in these times of amazing economical bounty.
