Yay! It was only this high because I said I'd be willing to off my loved ones if they became zombies. But I only said that because I know zombies aren't real. So probably I should have gotten a lower score.

...anyone want to tell me how to make things blow up?

I love Tom Hodges' edgy style. And by edgy I mean I like his edges. His lines and angles. Maybe edgy wasn't the right word for that? Whatever. I don't care. His Leia rocks.

I snagged a link today from Joss Whedon's blog to an article /interview that talks about Joss's involvement in Equality Now, an organization which I know pathetically little about. To raise money for said organization, Joss is auctioning off seats at a dinner table WITH HIM during San Diego's Comic-Con in July. The auction, as far as i can tell, is going to be on Ebay from 7/2-7/12.

I am so going to bid.

Nanette and Elle are going on a 3-day pioneer trek while they are in Utah visiting family. She brought me this cute little pattern for a dress/bonnet/apron/bloomers and I made it up for her. SO CUTE! Yeah, I am bragging a little. Aren't her gap teeth just too much? :)

Last year the summer movie selection did not thrill me. There were a few that I was excited about, and most of them disappointed me. This year, I'm afraid I we might bankrupt ourselves watching all of these AWESOME films. It doesn't help that the summer book roster is looking so hot as well. But I have another blog for that.

I am having some difficulty trying to figure out our weekend around both Ratatouille and Die Hard. Because I WILL see them both this weekend. And then comes Transformers on the 4h of July which looks way more awesome than it has any right to. And THEN. Harry Potter. Not just one, mind you! A double whammy of Harry Potter! Because the Very Last Book comes out the week after the 5th movie, and if I die before I get to read/watch all of the things on my summer list I am going to seriously have words with my guardian angels. (yes. I am that shallow).

Also, I am happy to see that the trailer of Becoming Jane makes it look like the movie might actually be good (because when I heard about it, I was nervous) besides having a cast that I love. It will be nice to see James McAvoy in a film where he has his own legs and ears. He is also in Penelope (coming out this year) which is going to be so cute I can hardly stand it.

This picture of Anne Hathaway as Jane Austen? Exactly how I picture the perfect day/evening/moment. Writing, by hand, in front of a window, with a frilly white nightgown. I am so not kidding.

For those of you eaten up with curiosity about my lame foot - I was coming out of the kitchen on Monday (after a 9 hour drive from Sacramento with a barfing 3 year old...) and i managed to kick the corner of the wall with my toe just perfectly. It made this noise like when you crack a glo-stick, and then my small toe was sticking out at a 90 degree angle from my foot.

Lovely.

And Karalenn's first concerned words? "did you get a picture?!" Thanks.

I went to the podiatrist yesterday, and he did some physical therapy on it and gave me a BIGGER, UGLIER shoe to wear and said that if I do therapy on it twice a week for two weeks I should be able to wear regular (closed toe) shoes after that.

I was coming out of the kitchen again today..... yeah.

good thing I was wearing the big ugly shoe, because I probably would have broken another toe.

*sigh*

I have been absent from the blog for awhile and this is why! My little sister graduated from High School last Friday and we went up to Weaverville to do the family thing.

I can't believe she is all grown up! (she's the one on the right, with friends Megan and Suzan (sorry girls, if I spelled any of those wrong...))

And Nancy will be doin' it next year! *sob*

This one is Sharon with the rest of the Houston Girls, from the left Nancy, Mom and then Jacquie. Those cuties in the background on the right are my cousins Britnee and Kayla. Look at all the Pine Trees!

I LOVE WEAVERVILLE!!!!

My grandparents (Houston) also came down, and my grandma (Turner) and Aunt Pattie and her daughter Nicole came and I hadn't seen some of these people for 5 years and it was So Nice to see everyone and the boys just LOVED it. I asked Connor what was his favorite part and he said, "eggs". They would drag their aunts out every day to get the chicken eggs and bring them in. We almost had no accidents....

I am so lame.

Oooohhh lookit what I got in the mail today! Thank you Ebay. It's an Advance pattern, no surprise. I have totally fallen for Advance and Most Especially for Marian Martin vintage dress patterns. Almost every time I click on a picture because I like the pattern, it turns out to be one of the above designers.

This one's appeal? 3/4 length sleeves, it's a wrap, and those buttons. I'm already salivating over the kinds of buttons I could use. And the added bonus? When I bid on the pattern I did not notice the black ribbon trim one inch from the edge all around the neckline, sleeves, and side seam. Yum!

I have to admit that with buying all these vintage patterns I've had this crazy desire to chop my hair short again (I'm SUCH a lemming). (Don't worry honey, I won't. Yet)

Connor's 1st grade self portrait. I love how he decided to pose for it. Kids make me happy. :)

I have been such a slacker lately with my journal cards. Here is May 20th's prompt, "Change". I say that I like change. I say that it is another adventure waiting to happen. Often my digestive tract disagrees with me...

And May 27's prompt was something about What we're Good At, and What we're Aspiring to be Better At. Something like that.

The colorful papers on both cards are actually bits of pages from my latest McCall's Quilting magazine. the rest is just scraps i've got around the house.
