This week's prompt: Your initial

I went with short and sweet this week. Sorry the photos are washed out. I copped out on adding any color, or anything of interest for that matter. I'm trying to catch up to my son's 1st grade curriculum in the homeschool department. We're a few weeks behind. It's feeling a little all-encompassing right now.

(Sticky) Note to Self:

Emily's prompt this week was "note to self". This is one that I tend to need upon occasion. Okay, frequently. I can usually find a lot of reasons to sit and vegetate and be useless. Time to self motivate!

Week 4 prompt: "a symbol you love" . Kinda hard for me. I don't tend to think in symbols much. I'd like to use a black and white photo on next week's card. Have to remember to keep my camera with me this week!

Here is my week 3 card from Emily's challenge. I wanted to use glitter this week. Already I have a list tucked into my "deck of me" pouch, of some of the cards I would like to make this year. Like one with sheep on it. And one that is covered in quilted fabric.

Here's my week 2 card. My pictures are very fuzzy I'm SORRY. *bites nails* I just don't know what to do about that! And I didn't want to put this one in the scanner because I was afraid the burnt edges would crumble.

The back says "Faith in God is the most powerful force ever to be wielded by mankind." I tried for hours to think of something "powerful" that stood out to me besides God, and then I realized that I was only doing so in response to imagined peer pressure, got over myself, and did what I wanted.

I made a pouch to hold my "deck of me" journal cards! I LOVE IT! It's upholstery fabric, with an old button from who-knows-what and a bunch of pearls! :) This week's prompt is "what is powerful to you" and I've started my card and I'm so excited!

The pictures are a little fuzzy but this is my first card-journal entry for the year. What's this you ask? What AM I talking about? Check it out: http://embers.typepad.com/e/ . Emily Falconbridge has all the particulars on her 'site. I think it's a creative way to journal and I bet it will be fun! The first week she encouraged us to make a card about something we did that we were proud of last week. Under my little house it says, "my apartment is clean, and organized." Big achievement for me! And it STILL IS! Yay! :)
